A special puff pastry cake, the Galette des Rois or the French King Cake is a classic cake made following a 700-year old French tradition to celebrate epiphany, a religious feast commemorating the arrival of the Three Kings to the manger where Jesus was born.

Today, it’s eaten throughout the month of January and is simply a festive way to celebrate the new year with family and friends, regardless of religious background.

We have made the galette with homemade buttery puff pastry in two versions: a cake with rum powered almond cream (or Frangipane) and a hazelnut and a cake with added hazelnut & almond praline to give the cake an extra sweet bite.

Enjoy a whole cake during your afternoon coffe with friends, family evenings, dinner parties or celebrations.

It’s flaky, sweet, creamy and best enjoyed when warm, straight out of the oven.
